Service Technician Job Description This in-house Technician role focuses on building and repairing hot runner systems for plastic injection machinery within a modern facility You will work using your mechanical aptitude, tooling experience, and blueprint reading skills to assemble, troubleshoot, and restore complex equipment to optimal performance Job Responsibilities Build new hot runner systems for plastic injection machinery using detailed prints, hand tools, and power tools Repair existing hot runner systems by locating the original prints, disassembling components, and diagnosing issues with manifolds, nozzles, controllers, and related parts Assess job requirements by evaluating the current product condition to determine the appropriate repair approach Perform all services according to established service protocols and quality standards Reassemble equipment with precision, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and function of all components Test repaired products to verify satisfactory performance and confirm that all issues have been resolved Document work performed as required and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders about repair status Essential Skills Minimum of 3+ years of experience in tool building, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to tear equipment down and accurately reassemble it Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings Hands-on experience with assembly, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a production or service environment Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
