Introduction:

Express Employment Professionals - Skilled Trades Division is recruiting experienced Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for a large manufacturing operation in Belleville, MI. This is a highly skilled maintenance opportunity for a mechanical trades professional with at least 4 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience . We're looking for someone who can troubleshoot and repair production equipment while working across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and supporting basic fault tracing of electrical systems .

Position Summary:

The Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and related equipment within a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This position has a strong mechanical and hydraulic focus , while also requiring the ability to work with pneumatic and electrical systems. Technicians will use technical manuals, prints, and schematics to diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs that minimize production downtime. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, mechanically skilled, team-oriented, and comfortable responding to both scheduled maintenance and unexpected equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance & Equipment Repair:

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial production equipment. Perform mechanical repairs on production, assembly, and welding equipment. Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions. Repair, replace, adjust, and maintain mechanical components. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Assist with the replacement, relocation, and installation of manufacturing equipment. Respond to production equipment breakdowns and help restore equipment to operation efficiently.

Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems:

Maintain and repair industrial hydraulic systems and related technology . Troubleshoot hydraulic system failures, leaks, pressure issues, and component problems. Diagnose and repair pneumatic equipment and systems. Replace and service hydraulic and pneumatic components as required. Apply technical documentation and schematics when troubleshooting fluid-power systems. Electrical & Technical Troubleshooting Assist with troubleshooting electrical components associated with production equipment.

Read and interpret:

Mechanical prints, technical manuals, Hydraulic schematics, Pneumatic schematics, and Electrical schematics. Use technical documentation to identify equipment failures and complete repairs safely. Welding & Fabrication Perform welding and basic fabrication as required for equipment repairs. Repair brackets, guards, frames, and other mechanical components as needed. Use appropriate hand and power tools to complete maintenance work. Safety & Plant Support Follow established OSHA, plant safety, Lockout/Tagout, and PPE requirements. Safely work around moving equipment, electrical systems, industrial machinery, and production processes. Work from ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms when required. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, engineering, vendors, and other plant personnel. QualificationsRequired Minimum 4 years of successful hands-on mechanical/industrial maintenance experience . Previous experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Experience working with industrial hydraulic systems . Experience troubleshooting pneumatic equipment. Working knowledge of electrical systems associated with industrial machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, prints, and schematics. Welding ability. Must possess a personal tool set including standard hand tools necessary to perform industrial equipment repairs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple maintenance assignments. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance and production team. Preferred Journeyperson certification, transferrable years of experience is acceptable . Certified welder is preferred. Formal training or certification in the design, installation, and repair of industrial hydraulic systems . Previous experience repairing production assembly and welding equipment. Experience replacing, relocating, and installing manufacturing machinery. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance systems.

Schedule Requirements:

This facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year . Off-shift availability is an essential requirement for this opportunity. Candidates must be able and willing to: Work 2nd or 3rd shift . Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required. Work weekends and holidays when scheduled. Accommodate rotating or alternate schedules based on production requirements. Respond to maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical & Work Environment Requirements This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position performed within an active manufacturing facility.

Candidates must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods. Demonstrate the manual dexterity required for equipment repairs. Climb stairs and ladders. Work safely from elevated platforms. Occasionally lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Work around moving mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Work in areas where temperatures and humidity may vary. Properly wear required PPE, which may include safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, gloves, protective clothing, and fall-protection equipment.
