Job Description:

We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Mechanical Designer with strong SolidWorks experience to support the design of automated manufacturing equipment and assembly systems for the automotive industry. In this role, you will work under the direction of a Lead Mechanical Engineer to develop detailed assembly drawings and mechanical designs based on provided concepts. This is a hands-on machine/automation design position - not a product design role. Responsibilities Create detailed mechanical and assembly drawings using SolidWorks Design automation equipment, assembly systems, and manufacturing cells Develop layouts, machine components, and fabrication details Collaborate with Lead Mechanical Engineers to translate concepts into production-ready designs Support automotive manufacturing and automation projects Maintain drawing accuracy, BOMs, and documentation Required Qualifications Mid-to-Senior level Mechanical Design experience Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Experience creating assembly drawings Background in automation equipment or machine design Experience designing automated systems/cells for manufacturing environments Preferred Qualifications Automotive industry experience Experience designing powertrain assembly systems Prior experience supporting GM automation projects Familiarity with robotic cells, fixtures, conveyors, or custom machinery
