Job Description

Pro Services is partnering with a bakery in Plymouth, MI on a Direct Hire opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join their third shift maintenance team. This is a hands-on role keeping a high-speed bakery production line running around the clock — conveyors, baggers, tyers, ovens, coolers, sifters, mixers, and proof boxes. If you're mechanically inclined, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a team that has each other's backs on the floor, we want to hear from you. Ideal Candidate Profile 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or bakery environment. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing complex conveyor systems. Strong mechanical background — comfortable repairing, installing, and replacing three-phase motors, along with bearings, shafts, seals, and gearboxes. Basic troubleshooting experience with PLC and HMI systems is a plus. Food or bakery industry experience is a plus. Mechanically inclined with a strong troubleshooting mindset — able to diagnose problems and fix them on the fly. Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment; previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting preferred. A true team player who's willing to jump in and help anybody on the floor, including the maintenance team and operations. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment — including ovens, conveyor belts, and other critical systems — to minimize unplanned downtime. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems, including motors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed control components. Inspect and replace worn components such as bolts, belts, and other hardware to keep equipment running reliably. Collaborate with production, sanitation, engineering, and maintenance teams to support smooth plant operations. What You'll Bring Must supply own hand tools (wrenches, Allen key set, jaw pliers, chain lock). Basic electrical skills, including 110V-240V single phase and 480V three-phase systems; motor and relay proficiency required. Basic mechanical skills with the ability to rebuild mechanical devices; conveyor systems experience required. Basic pneumatic skills. Basic welding ability — MIG required; TIG a plus.
