Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly professional for a temporary manufacturing assignment in Blaine, MN. This hands-on position is responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems according to blueprints, schematics, and production documentation while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy. The ideal candidate has previous mechanical assembly experience, is comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools, and knows how to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers. Candidates should have a strong "get up and go" mentality, work at a steady and efficient pace, and be willing to take initiative without needing constant direction. This assignment is expected to last approximately 2-3 months, with potential for hire-on for candidates who perform well and successfully complete the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble mechanical components and systems according to blueprints, schematics, and production documents. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized industrial equipment to complete assemblies. Measure components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Apply basic shop math to verify dimensions, measurements, and specifications. Perform visual and dimensional quality inspections throughout the assembly process. Verify proper fit, alignment, and functionality of assembled components. Identify and communicate assembly, material, or quality concerns. Maintain an efficient work pace while consistently meeting quality expectations. Take initiative to keep work moving and assist with additional responsibilities when assigned tasks are completed. Work collaboratively with production and manufacturing team members to meet daily goals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Follow all established manufacturing, quality, and workplace safety procedures. Perform additional assembly and production responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous mechanical assembly or related manufacturing experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability required. Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments required. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Working knowledge of basic shop math and manufacturing processes. Ability to safely and effectively operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other industrial equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Self-motivated with a "get up and go" mentality and the ability to maintain a productive work pace. Ability to take initiative and move between responsibilities efficiently. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English. High school diploma or equivalent required. Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Comfortable performing hands-on and repetitive assembly work for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced manufacturing and mechanical assembly environment. Regular use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, and precision measuring instruments. Hands-on work involving mechanical components and production equipment. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Overtime may be required on Fridays based on production needs. Employees who demonstrate strong performance may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities with increased compensation.
