Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the equipment and facility systems supporting a fast-paced cold-storage and food distribution operation. This position is responsible for keeping material-handling equipment, conveyors, refrigeration-related systems, electrical components, dock equipment, and other facility equipment operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, and perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime. This position works in both refrigerated and freezer environments. Essential Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and facility systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor equipment. Diagnose equipment problems and determine the appropriate repair or replacement. Repair and maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, fans, dock equipment, and other material-handling equipment. Troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, sensors, switches, VFDs, and control components. Perform basic PLC troubleshooting and identify control-system issues. Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed. Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential problems before failures occur. Complete scheduled preventive-maintenance activities and accurately document repairs. Respond to equipment breakdowns and production/warehouse maintenance emergencies. Work with operations and warehouse personnel to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance areas. Follow all OSHA, company safety, food-safety, GMP, and SQF requirements. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other established safety procedures. Assist with installation, relocation, and startup of new equipment. Maintain an adequate inventory of maintenance parts, supplies, and tools. Work with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required. Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned. Equipment and Systems Experience with some or all of the following is preferred: Conveyors and material-handling systems Electric motors and gearboxes VFDs and motor controls PLC-controlled equipment Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Pumps and compressors Dock levelers and dock equipment Roll-up and overhead doors Industrial fans and ventilation Refrigerated/freezer equipment Battery charging systems Pallet-handling equipment Welding and fabrication equipment Building and facility systems Qualifications 3+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or similar experience preferred. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Basic to advanced electrical troubleshooting experience. Ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams. Experience with motors, bearings, belts, chains, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Refrigeration experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work safely in refrigerated and freezer environments. Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas when required. Physical Requirements Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or awkward positions. Ability to work for extended periods in refrigerated and freezer environments. Ability to work at heights using approved equipment. Ability to work varying shifts and respond to occasional equipment emergencies. Schedule Monday-Friday, 10am-630pm Compensation $32.00-$36.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. Highly experienced candidates with strong electrical, PLC, refrigeration, or industrial troubleshooting skills may be considered above the posted range.
