Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Elevator Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the modernization, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of elevator systems within an hour of Kansas City. Your expertise will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of elevators and related equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the safety and productivity of our operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with industrial maintenance, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on elevator systems, including hydraulic, traction, and machine-room-less models. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments. Repair or replace defective components such as motors, controllers, relays, switches, and safety devices while adhering to safety standards. Conduct testing on high voltage and low voltage systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Install new elevator systems or upgrade existing equipment following manufacturer specifications and schematics. Collaborate with field service teams to diagnose complex issues involving hydraulics, smoke detector systems, or other building mechanical systems that impact elevator operation. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and system performance for ongoing analysis and reporting purposes. Skills Some experience in working with your hands on mechanical and electrical systems. Some knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and control wiring diagrams. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments. Solid understanding of hydraulics, low voltage electrical circuits, high voltage safety practices, and industrial electrician standards. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting complex issues. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly in English. Background in industrial mechanic work or military experience related to maintenance roles is highly desirable.
