Industrial Technician (Mechanical)
Location:
Joplin, MO About the Role Our client, a manufacturing facility in Joplin, MO, is seeking an Industrial Technician to join their maintenance team. This hands-on role focuses primarily on mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, with exposure to electrical systems considered a plus but not required. The technician will support multiple production lines through planned maintenance, equipment repairs, and emergency troubleshooting to help ensure reliable, efficient plant operations. Responsibilities Prioritize workplace safety and follow lockout/tagout procedures before servicing equipment Ensure environmental compliance and adherence to all safety and operational standards Perform mechanical maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment and support systems Execute scheduled and planned maintenance per established work plans and best practices Apply precision maintenance techniques - measurement, alignment, and balancing Perform preventative maintenance: lubrication, inspection, cleaning, and component replacement Rebuild and repair components such as pumps, air cylinders, valves, and related mechanical systems Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment issues Maintain critical environmental and process control systems Provide scheduled maintenance and emergency production support Participate in on-call rotation as needed, including occasional holiday coverage Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Ability to operate or obtain certification to operate powered industrial equipment (forklifts, personnel lifts) Basic computer skills with common Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Point) Preferred Qualifications Technical certification or degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field Precision maintenance or reliability certifications Electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting experience up to 480V MIG, TIG, or stick welding experience Crane operation, rigging, and hand signaling experience Experience with SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) About the Opportunity This role offers the chance to build a long-term career in industrial maintenance with an established manufacturing operation, with room to grow in responsibility and skill set over time.
