$22.00 - $30.00 per hour (Determined by experience, skills, and plant location) Position Overview We are hiring for one of our clients, a leading North American manufacturer of essential building materials and infrastructure solutions. We are seeking a Cement Technician to join the plant operations team. This is a multi-skilled frontline role responsible for safely operating, inspecting, and performing industrial mechanical maintenance across the cement manufacturing facility. Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership:
Practice and promote a zero-harm safety culture. Assess risks prior to task execution, perform authorized activities only, and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.Plant Operations & Inspection:
Conduct routine walk-by inspections and complete operational checklists across active process plant equipment.Industrial Maintenance & Repair:
Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, equipment installations, and component replacements (including rigging, cutting, welding, fitting, lubrication, alignments, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic low-voltage electrical checks, and light/medium mobile equipment operation).Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns to optimize equipment performance and minimize plant downtime.Documentation & Teamwork:
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, organize daily tasks, and actively participate in continuous improvement team activities.Qualifications & Requirements Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent credential.
- 1+ years of mechanical or industrial maintenance experience within a heavy manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team structure.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in dynamic plant environments, including outdoors, at elevated heights, in warm temperatures, near water, in dusty areas, and within confined spaces.
- Availability to work rotating shifts, night shifts, weekends, or overtime as operational requirements demand.
PPE & Safety Compliance:
Candidates must strictly follow all occupational health and safety protocols, including the correct fit and use of required safety equipment (such as respirators). Where tight-fitting respirators are mandatory for occupational safety, candidates must be able to achieve a proper seal in accordance with regulatory safety fit testing standards.
