JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CHIEFMANUFACTURING ENGINEER
(MECHANICALENGINEER
) Responsible for managing and overseeing Mechanical Project Engineers, Electrical Engineers, CAD operators, and all Engineering and Production Operations and Projects to include: Project lineup, Customer approval, Scheduling, Training, Preparation of Performance Evaluations, Design of equipment, Customer interface, and Interpretation of proposed designs. Also Assists Application Engineering with proposals; Identifies assemblies and Purchased components; Develops load calculations; Performs CAD detailing and checks drawings; Develops and releases Bills of Materials and Stock Releases; Maintains Engineering files; Provides input and participates in process and procedure improvements to accomplish manufacturing tasks; Evaluates Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Pending Purchase Order Changes (PPOCs); Interviews and recommends candidates for hire; Works with Purchasing regarding supply of materials and subcontracted production items; Works with Quality Assurance to determine corrective actions and ensure quality; Understands and ensures safety policies are followed in cooperation with Safety Director; Assists and / or Performs Customer Service; Troubleshoots Mechanical design and function during manufacture; Writes instruction and operating manuals; Assists in expediting Engineering and Production to complete assigned projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations. Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 7-8 years of experience preferable. .Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Excellent professional writing skills.
- Proficient in use of Pro/Engineer - Creo
- Designed equipment for industrial applications
- Industrial/manufacturing/fabrication/machining background
- Experience in scheduling and determining economic order quantities
- Strong background and experience interfacing with applications engineering.
- Excellent customer communication skills
- Marketing and sales experience.
