Job Description

The City of Springfield's Environmental Services Department is posting the Senior Industrial Machinery Mechanic position - INTERNAL ONLY for City of Springfield employees . This position will perform highly skilled predictive and preventative maintenance techniques in plant mechanic work to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair plant and lift station equipment using data-driven analysis, troubleshooting methodologies and continuous improvement in coordination with plant management. There are up to 5 promotional opportunities at the Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant and 1 promotional opportunity at the Northwest Treatment Plant. Experience, Education, and Training Requires at least five (5) years' experience in industrial or wastewater maintenance;
PREFERRED
Completion of technical school or apprenticeship is preferred but not required. Licensing/Certification Must possess a valid driver's license; A Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) that would enable the driver to operate a vehicle with airbrakes, tanker and appropriate endorsements is required within the probationary period; Must possess and maintain a Class D Wastewater License or equivalent.
