2nd Shift Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Operator to join a manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This position involves assembling mechanical components and sheet metal products while operating hardware insertion equipment, including Haeger machines and PEM fastener systems . The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience, is comfortable working from blueprints and assembly instructions , and has strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate Haeger hardware insertion machines and install PEM fasteners/hardware into sheet metal components. Assemble mechanical components, cabinets, chassis, and sheet metal assemblies according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment. Perform basic quality inspections to ensure completed assemblies meet specifications. Identify and troubleshoot assembly or hardware installation issues. Accurately document completed work and production information. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work closely with other production team members to maintain workflow and meet production schedules. Assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assembly equipment as needed. Follow established manufacturing and safety procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience . Experience with Haeger, PEM, or similar hardware insertion equipment strongly preferred. Experience working in a sheet metal job shop or sheet metal manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Comfortable troubleshooting basic mechanical or assembly issues. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Preferred Experience Previous experience assembling sheet metal cabinets, enclosures, or chassis . Technical or vocational training in mechanical assembly or manufacturing. Up to 5 years of mechanical assembly experience is preferred, but candidates with less experience and strong hands-on skills will also be considered. Familiarity with hardware such as PEM nuts, studs, standoffs, and other self-clinching fasteners . Work Environment Manufacturing and sheet metal production environment. Regular exposure to machinery, production noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required. Overtime may be available or required depending on production needs.
