Industrial Mechanical Foreman (Millwright / Pipefitting / Welding & Fabrication)

DOE Schedule:
40-70+ Hours Per Week Byers Industrial Services is seeking 2-3 experienced Industrial Mechanical Foremen to lead crews on industrial construction, equipment installation, maintenance, and plant projects throughout Southern New Jersey. This is a working foreman position requiring an extensive hands-on background in millwright work, machinery installation, precision alignment, pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and rigging. We're looking for leaders who can successfully manage crews while remaining technically proficient in the field. Primary Responsibilities Lead and supervise mechanical crews on industrial construction and maintenance projects. Coordinate manpower, daily production, and project execution. Install, set, align, level, grout, and commission industrial machinery and equipment. Perform precision alignment of rotating equipment and machinery. Install and repair conveyors and conveyor systems. Direct and participate in heavy rigging operations, equipment setting, and machinery relocations. Fabricate structural components, equipment supports, and miscellaneous steel. Install, modify, and repair industrial piping systems. Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and mechanical layouts. Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to maintain project schedules. Maintain quality workmanship while enforcing OSHA safety standards. Mentor crews and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Required Experience Candidates should have extensive industrial experience in the following: Millwright Precision setting and alignment of industrial machinery Equipment installation and commissioning Pump installation Gearboxes Motors Rotating equipment Conveyor installation and repairs Bearing replacement Coupling alignment Machinery maintenance Equipment troubleshooting Rigging Candidates must have extensive experience with: Equipment setting Machinery relocation Heavy rigging Chain falls Come-alongs Hydraulic gantries Forklifts Aerial lifts Crane picks Load calculations Safe rigging practices Critical lifts Pipefitting Experience with: Schedule 10 Pipe Schedule 40 Pipe Schedule 80 Pipe Air Line Piping Threaded Pipe Welded Pipe Mechanical equipment connections Industrial process piping Fabrication & Welding Must be proficient in: Industrial fabrication Structural modifications Pipe supports Equipment bases Miscellaneous steel fabrication Welding processes: SMAW (Stick) FCAW (Flux Core) GMAW (MIG) GTAW (TIG preferred) Leadership Expectations We're looking for foremen who have proven experience: Leading crews of skilled mechanical tradesmen Managing productivity and manpower Solving field problems independently Coordinating multiple trades Maintaining excellent safety standards Leading by example Remaining hands-on when necessary Minimum Qualifications Proven Industrial Mechanical Foreman experience Extensive Millwright experience Precision machinery alignment experience Conveyor installation experience Industrial rigging experience Pipefitting experience Welding and fabrication experience Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints OSHA 30 Valid Driver's License Reliable Transportation Must pass a pre-employment drug screen Compensation & Benefits $38-$43/hour 50-70+ Hours Weekly Health, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) with 4% Company Match 40 Hours of Paid Time Off upon hire Paid Holidays Long-Term Employment Career Advancement Opportunities Grow With Byers This position offers more than just steady work.
