Function:
Responsible for performing, coordinating, and assisting with day-to-day operations, preventative maintenance, and projects for the Maintenance Department in all areas deemed necessary by the Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Management.
Employment type:
Full-time role. Hourly, non-exempt. Direct hire.
Hours:
Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM. Occasional overtime; this position may require more than 40 hours per week and weekends. No swing shifts!
Compensation:

Job Duties:
  • Perform all mechanical repair and maintenance activity, including updating safety/protective devices, locating/relocating equipment, safety labeling, following all procedures and policies for Almetek & Lordon Plants.
  • Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM). Inspects machinery for functionality and lubricates machinery in the production areas. Works with operators to make sure that machines are working properly with no issues, irregular functions, or concerns. Fills out PM records/logs for specific machinery.
  • assist with all mechanical (plumbing/building/HVAC) projects as required.
  • Perform facilities maintenance inside and outside.
  • assist with the maintenance process for tooling, fixturing, i.e. screen printing frame cleanup, die sharpening, etc.
  • Maintain maintenance tooling, spare parts, supplies, and ensure proper housekeeping in maintenance shop, storage room, and chemical room as instructed by Plant Management.
  • Assist in moving equipment within and to/from factory and warehouses i.e., EZ-storage, Lordon Plant, Almetek 4.
  • Assist in the production process and other duties as required by Plant Management.
  • Participate in the Safety Committee, safety committee activities, Complete all safety training, i.e., lockout/tagout, as required.
  • Forward all purchase order requests to Plant Manager.
  • Coordinate and assist in all other duties deemed necessary by Plant Management.
  • Work alongside Plant Management to ensure all OSHA, federal and state safety laws, policies, and procedures are adhered to and updated as needed including lockout/tagout and Maintenance MSDS right to know stations.
  • Suggest improvements to machinery, guarding, safety, etc. and present them to the Assistant Plant Manager.
  • Assist vendors and contractors on maintenance projects as instructed.
  • This position may require more than 40 hours per week, and Saturdays based on the workload.
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements:
  • An extremely high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of various types of machinery and their specific functions
  • Ability to read drawings/specifications and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or diagram formats
  • Experience repairing and maintaining Bliss, Niagra, Verson, Bruderer presses
  • Experience with conventional machining tools such as punch presses, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, and automated assembly equipment are a plus
  • Experience with CNC machines, routers, and engravers are a plus
  • Must be able to demonstrate machinery and equipment maintenance skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate technical aptitude and understanding
  • Must be able to use power tools in a safe and proper manner
  • Must be able to work successfully using clear communication, and interact professionally with all levels of staff across multiple departments
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently while working as part of the Maintenance department
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks within a reasonable time frame, as set forth by Plant Management
  • Must maintain a safe and clean work environment as per established policies, procedures, and guidelines. 5S knowledge is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA industrial safety rules and requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • The ability to read, write and converse fluently in the English language
  • This position requires the ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
