Mechanical Industrial Engineer - Director

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Mechanical Industrial Engineer - Director to lead our manufacturing and industrial engineering operations. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with technical expertise to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. The ideal candidate will oversee complex engineering projects, foster cross-functional collaboration, and implement innovative solutions that elevate operational efficiency and safety standards. Duties Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards using project scheduling techniques. Drive process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and industrial automation to streamline operations and reduce waste. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of CAD models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics for tooling, assembly lines, and industrial equipment. Manage root cause analysis for production issues by analyzing engineering data and troubleshooting mechanical systems including CNC machines, robotics, vision inspection systems, and CNC equipment. Supervise the integration of robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial automation systems, and vision inspection systems into manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, tooling specialists, and production staff to optimize workflows and enhance product quality. Provide leadership in factory experience management by fostering a culture of continuous improvement through process engineering, lean management practices, and quality improvement programs. Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), schematics standards, and safety protocols across all engineering activities. Develop training programs for team members on new technologies such as robot programming, welding techniques, tooling design, and industrial equipment maintenance. Lead engineering troubleshooting efforts by analyzing data trends to identify root causes of mechanical failures or process deviations. Qualifications Extensive experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a proven track record in factory or manufacturing facility management. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including assembly line processes, tooling design, welding techniques, CNC machinery, robotics, and industrial automation. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo; experience with schematics creation; familiarity with CAD data analysis tools. Demonstrated expertise in project management within a manufacturing environment; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Deep understanding of process improvement methodologies including Lean management and Six Sigma manufacturing principles. Skilled in engineering troubleshooting through data analysis; experienced in root cause analysis for complex mechanical or process issues. Ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively; excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments. Knowledge of industrial equipment such as vision inspection systems, CNC machines, robotics systems—including robot programming—and industrial automation components. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with assembly line optimization and tooling development. Familiarity with industry standards such as GD&T; experience working with schematics and technical drawings.
