This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment to minimize downtime and keep production running safely and efficiently. Schedule Monday through Friday Day shift Typical hours are approximately 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Overtime may be required based on production needs Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on packaging and production equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and respond promptly to unexpected equipment breakdowns. Monitor equipment performance and make mechanical adjustments to improve speed, quality, alignment, and reliability. Work closely with machine operators to identify problems and reduce recurring downtime. Inspect belts, chains, bearings, motors, sensors, pneumatic components, conveyors, sealing systems, and other machine parts. Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, modifications, and continuous-improvement projects. Identify necessary replacement parts and help maintain an accurate, organized spare-parts inventory. Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance and repairs in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and recommended improvements to production and maintenance management. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Lockout/Tagout requirements, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Qualifications Previous industrial maintenance or packaging-equipment repair experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills. Experience with packaging machinery, conveyors, motors, pneumatic systems, sensors, and related production equipment is strongly preferred. Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus. Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions. Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and take initiative with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operators, supervisors, and other mechanics. Dependable attendance and reliable transportation are required. Availability to work overtime as production needs require. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs or ladders. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Ability to work around moving machinery in a manufacturing environment. Compensation $25.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
