Description Description:
The maintenance Utility employees perform a full range of assignments using independent judgement to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations. The employee must successfully complete the required training and medical exam as well as have a thorough knowledge of the appropriate Job Instruction Breakdown (JIB) for their assigned area.
Requirements Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cement Mixing and Finishing.
  • Cleaning of Production Machine Pits.
  • Confined Space Entry.
  • Crane Rigging.
  • Handling of Acids, Hydrogen Peroxide, etc.
  • Jack Hammer operations.
  • Landscaping and Brush Removal.
  • Machine Coolant Changes.
  • Operate Heavy Equipment i.e.: o Bobcat o Crane Car o Forklift o Pay loader o Straddle Carrier
  • Painting, facility and grounds improvements, basic "handyman" services.
  • Snow Removal / Salt Spreading.
  • Spill Containment Procedures and Clean-up.
  • Various preventative maintenance tasks.
Shift:
7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are also desirable:
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks on heavy equipment.
  • Be willing to work off-shifts, weekends and overtime if required.
Special Demands:
  • Be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to climb ladders and comfortable working in elevated environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
  • May be exposed to extremely dusty environments.
  • May be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
Education /
Training:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum:
  • High School Graduate and/or
GED Preferred:
  • Prior industrial experience preferred including mobile equipment operation.
Pay Range:
$24.80 - $28.25/hour
