Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire Job Summary MS Companies is supporting a manufacturing client in Crestline, Ohio in the search for a Maintenance Mechanic (Industrial) to support plant operations through hands on repair, troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance across a variety of equipment and systems. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically strong, comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment, and able to help keep production running safely and efficiently. The right candidate will be dependable, technically capable, and open to continued training as equipment and processes evolve. Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic schematics
- Experience performing equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to complete work orders, maintenance records, and basic documentation
- Willingness to complete required training and certifications through the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program
- Ability to work a 12 hour schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Technical associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
- At least 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience preferred
- At least 1 year of PLC experience preferred
- Experience with Fanuc robots, robot pendants, and Allen Bradley controllers
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, vibration analysis tools, and PCs
- Experience operating forklifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes
- Experience using welding and cutting equipment
- Experience helping train or support junior maintenance employees Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex repairs on machinery, drills, air cylinders, instrumentation, and other plant equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment using mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic schematics
- Install, dismantle, repair, and upgrade equipment and structures as needed
- Complete preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
- Support production by completing work orders and responding to equipment issues on the floor
- Maintain accurate logbooks, maintenance records, and reports
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve issues and keep operations running reliably
- Provide guidance and support to junior maintenance staff when needed Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with this role may include standing, walking, bending, climbing, and performing active hands on work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
This position may involve exposure to heat, noise, moving machinery, heights, and occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The role also requires safe use of tools, cleaning agents, and shop equipment while following all PPE and LOTO procedures.
