Job Description
Overview Responsible for overall maintenance of the building, grounds and machinery while upholding food safety, and quality practices. This position is designated as a Qualified Individual responsible for allergen, sanitation and foreign material preventive controls. Responsibilities → What You'll Do Evaluates and identifies potential problems, repairs & maintains electrical / mechanical machinery and equipment. Evaluates and identifies potential problems, repairs & maintains pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC and plumbing systems inside and outside the plant. Installs new and/or relocates old equipment. Performs all necessary repairs and preventative maintenance to building, grounds and equipment. Maintains preventive maintenance and other required documentation. Educated in how to operate all machinery. Repair or replace variable speed drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, product pumps, and associated utilities. Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety and productivity in the plant. Ensures compliance with Food Safety & Quality Policies and Procedures, 5S, OSHA and the Food Safety Plan. Assures conformity to all company, customer, & government standards and regulations. Works with Engineering to implement any improvement projects in and/or around the facility. Performs other duties as assigned by management Qualifications → What You'll Bring Must be able to successfully pass an oral and written test to demonstrate required knowledge and abilities required of the position. Possess strong problem-solving abilities. Advanced mechanical aptitude, basic math skills and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools are required. High School diploma or GED required . Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-10-hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive work. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is below threshold. Earplugs, hairnets, and other PPE may be required, and are available if desired, in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
