Job Summary This role involves assembling, repairing, and maintaining overhead cranes, hoists, and related mechanical/electrical components in a shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of crane and hoist components Conduct inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals Test and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment Document work performed using service reports or work orders Assist in loading/unloading equipment and materials Collaborate with engineers, field technicians, and supervisors on projects Adhere to company safety standards and OSHA regulations
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical school preferred) 1-3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical repair (crane industry experience is a plus) Basic understanding of electrical systems (AC/DC motors, controls, wiring) Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment (certification preferred) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor Willingness to learn and take direction #
