Hourly / Non-Exempt Position Summary The Shop Technician is a hands-on member of the Operations Team responsible for assembling and integrating analytical equipment and packaged systems used in the natural gas industry. This position works from engineering drawings and project documentation to mount equipment, install tubing and wiring, label components, complete assemblies, and document changes made during fabrication. Key Responsibilities

• Build and assemble analytical panels, enclosures, skids, and other equipment.
• Mount instruments, valves, regulators, junction boxes, tubing components, electrical components, and other equipment.
• Measure, cut, bend, route, and install tubing while maintaining professional workmanship.
• Run, terminate, and label wiring as required.
• Read and follow project drawings and instructions.
• Mark drawing changes and provide accurate redlines when the finished project differs from the original drawing.
• Ask questions and communicate with the Shop Lead, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, and Drafting when something does not look right or information is missing.
• Keep track of materials assigned to each project and report missing or damaged parts.
• Protect customer equipment and maintain a clean, professional finished product.
• Keep work areas, tools, and materials organized using 5S principles.
• Follow Company safety and quality procedures.
• Adjust between projects and priorities as customer needs, schedules, or material availability change.
• Help teammates when needed to complete projects and meet schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Competencies

• Basic email, Word, and Excel skills are helpful but not required. Performance Indicators Performance in this position will be evaluated using both demonstrated behaviors and measurable results, including:

Material Control:

Materials assigned to a project are accounted for with a goal of zero lost project material.

Safety:

Work is completed safely with a goal of zero preventable recordable incidents.

Quality :

Work is completed correctly with a goal of zero preventable quality misses.

Redlines:

Completed project redlines are submitted to Drafting within three business days after customer acceptance testing.

Organization:

Work areas, tools, and project materials are kept clean and organized. Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more of related mechanical, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, construction, electrical, instrumentation, or similar hands-on experience preferred.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred.
• Forklift certification is preferred but is not required. Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of workday and ability to regularly bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and work in positions necessary to assemble and access equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools requiring manual dexterity, gripping, turning, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Ability to regularly push, pull, lift, carry, and position tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds and periodically handle items weighing up to 75 pounds with appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.
• Ability to occasionally climb ladders or work from approved elevated work surfaces.
• Ability to safely traverse shop, warehouse, staging, loading, and outdoor work areas.

Environmental Conditions Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. The noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around electricity.
