Job Summary:

Learn more about the MIM process here: https://www.optimim.com/ The Maintenance Mechanic III performs duties in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment on the production floor and includes OptiMIM's facilities systems such as building maintenance and grounds functionality. Performs routine duties while using mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls skills to do tasks as needed to maintain operation and safety of assigned equipment. Assists the Senior Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Manager as point of contact for MMIs and MMIIs by providing direction for work activities from a list of given tasks to keep them on track.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Takes lead in the diagnosing and repair of all assigned department equipment. Identifies, implements, and exercises independent judgment for PMs and determining course of action needed when issues arise. Performs preventative maintenance. Troubleshoots furnace operations through Siemens PLC KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment technical role. Experience troubleshooting and repairing semi or fully automated equipment. Ability to observe, analyze, interpret situations, and solve problems with mechanical and electrical equipment/machinery. Knowledge and experience troubleshooting production running Siemens PLC hardware and software. Able to fully utilize a digital multimeter (DMM) for troubleshooting. Some technical training or coursework in industrial equipment engineering and troubleshooting through technical school or trade experience is highly desired.
WORK CRITERIA/CONDITIONS
Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to frequently stand, talk, hear, walk, or sit. Ability to frequently climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell. Ability to regularly lift and/or move tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to follow electrical hot work safety requirements and wear arc flash equipment on an as needed basis. Ability to wear a respirator on an occasional basis. Personal protective equipment is required including safety glasses, safety footwear, bump cap, metatarsal steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and (as needed) respirator, any other protective equipment as required.
