3007318319-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Giant Eagle is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support our Manufacturing operations within the Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management department. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. You'll perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Working in a collaborative, customer-focused culture, you'll partner with cross-functional teams, document work in CMMS systems, and help drive uptime, quality, and safety across the plant. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on manufacturing and packaging equipment, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective repairs Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to support continuous operations and maintain production schedules Install, adjust, and align mechanical components, motors, conveyors, and related systems according to engineering and maintenance standards Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively while following all Giant Eagle and OSHA safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders accurately in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management, and Operations teams to prioritize work, coordinate downtime, and improve equipment reliability Assist in planning and executing equipment upgrades, relocations, and capital improvement projects within the manufacturing facility Monitor equipment performance, identify recurring problems, and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and asset management strategies Support a strong safety culture by reporting hazards, participating in safety programs, and adhering to all company policies and procedures Train or assist in training less-experienced technicians on proper maintenance techniques and safe work practices Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area, including shared maintenance shops and parts storage Required Skills Industrial equipment maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Preventive maintenance (PM) Basic electrical systems and controls Hydraulics and pneumatics Welding and fabrication (basic) Use of hand and power tools Blueprints and schematics reading Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Root cause analysis Basic PLC familiarity (troubleshooting support) Safety and OSHA compliance Time management Communication and teamwork
