Job Description

Clemens Food Group is hiring a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair the equipment that keeps our Rendering operation running safely and efficiently. This role is a strong fit for someone experienced with pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, belts, chains, and other industrial equipment who enjoys solving mechanical problems and improving equipment reliability. What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, bearings, belts, chains, and drive systems Maintain rendering equipment, including cookers, dryers, presses, mills, blowers, conveyors, and pumps Respond to breakdowns and work with Operations to return equipment safely to service Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime Adjust, align, lubricate, and repair belt and chain-drive systems Troubleshoot fluid-handling systems, including flow, pressure, valves, and seals Repair industrial plumbing and mechanical piping Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic components Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting Read equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and schematics Support equipment startup and shutdown procedures Complete mechanical projects from initial diagnosis through final repair Document maintenance, repairs, inspections, and project work accurately Follow Lockout/Tagout and all other required safety procedures Partner with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment and processes What We're Looking For Working knowledge of motors, pumps, valves, bearings, belts, chains, and drive units Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Knowledge of preventive maintenance and lubrication practices Industrial plumbing or mechanical piping experience Basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical knowledge Ability to understand how mechanical equipment affects the overall production process Ability to organize projects and follow them through to completion Strong documentation, teamwork, and communication skills Preferred Experience Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience Rendering, food-processing, wastewater, water-treatment, or other heavy-process experience Pump and fluid-handling system maintenance Conveyor, belt, and chain-drive maintenance Welding or fabrication Experience using a CMMS or preventive-maintenance program Know the Environment Rendering plays an important role in our sustainability efforts by converting pork by-products into usable materials instead of allowing them to go to waste.
Candidates must be comfortable:
Working around raw pork by-products, including blood, offal, hair, and other organic materials Working around strong odors Working in hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions Working around industrial chemicals and sanitation processes Working near active pumps, piping, conveyors, cookers, presses, and processing equipment Working at heights when required Getting dirty when repairs require it Why Clemens Food Group? $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
