Hiring 1st Shift Motor Modification Technicians in Mechanicsburg, PA! Job Description The Mechanical Assembly Technician performs in-house mechanical modifications, assembly, and disassembly of AC/DC electric motors according to customer specifications. This role works hands-on with a variety of motor sizes, using standard hand, power, and pneumatic tools to rework and build motors to precise requirements. The technician collaborates closely with shop leadership, engineers, and quality teams, follows detailed modification orders, and maintains accurate documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform in-house modifications to electric AC/DC motors based on detailed customer specifications. Disassemble, rework, and reassemble motors of various sizes using standard hand tools, power tools, and air/pneumatic tools. Follow modification orders accurately to ensure all required changes and specifications are completed correctly. Take direction from the Modification Lead and apply hands-on training to build and modify motors to standard. Conduct quality checks and basic testing to verify motors meet performance, safety, and reliability expectations. Track and document all modification activities, production orders, and inspection data using Microsoft Office and/or SAP systems. Collaborate with engineers and quality assurance teams to identify, communicate, and help resolve product or process issues. Maintain accurate inventory placement of motors and components and coordinate with warehouse teams for proper storage and shipping. Follow strict safety procedures at all times and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) in the manufacturing environment. Support Mod Shop leadership in achieving production goals and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Complete daily equipment checks to ensure tools and machinery are in safe, working condition. Perform housekeeping and shop organization tasks, including adherence to 5S practices to keep the work area clean and efficient. Handle manual and power pneumatic tools safely and effectively for mechanical assembly and repair tasks. Assist team members as needed to meet deadlines and support overall shop productivity. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. At least 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly and repair in an industrial, automotive, or manufacturing setting. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with industrial assembly processes. Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools for mechanical work. Ability to read and follow modification orders and work instructions accurately. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office for reporting, tracking, and documentation. Ability to perform physically demanding work in a loud, dirty, and non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work that meets specifications. Ability to follow safety procedures consistently and use required PPE. Effective communication and teamwork skills to work closely with leads, engineers, quality, and warehouse teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Kingstown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.39/hr.
