The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining elevators in commercial and residential buildings. In addition, they will inspect elevator systems and identify issues and troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all installation work is completed per job requirementsEnsure all safety procedures are followed during installationRead and interpret schematics and blueprintsProvide excellent customer service while on-siteConduct field service visits to ensure elevator functionalityPerform regular maintenance tasks to keep elevators in optimal conditionEnsures jobsite is neat and cleanWorks with inspectors to ensure work passes all required inspectionsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
All mechanics may be required to supervise apprenticesCOMPETENCIES
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with customers on a positive basisReliable and punctual Ability to multi-task Organized and structuredLANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, dimensional drawings/specifications and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
High School diploma or GED Minimum of 4 years of experience installing residential elevators, wheelchair lifts and LULA elevators Knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1Ability to read and understand installation blueprints and drawings including all electrical and electronic schematics and knowledge with a focus on industrial mechanicsCERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS
No license requiredCOMPUTER SKILLS
Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookPHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must be able to lift heavy loadsWORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.TRAVEL:
