OVERVIEW

The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining elevators in commercial and residential buildings. In addition, they will inspect elevator systems and identify issues and troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all installation work is completed per job requirementsEnsure all safety procedures are followed during installationRead and interpret schematics and blueprintsProvide excellent customer service while on-siteConduct field service visits to ensure elevator functionalityPerform regular maintenance tasks to keep elevators in optimal conditionEnsures jobsite is neat and cleanWorks with inspectors to ensure work passes all required inspections

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

All mechanics may be required to supervise apprentices

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

High School diploma or GED Minimum of 4 years of experience installing residential elevators, wheelchair lifts and LULA elevators Knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1Ability to read and understand installation blueprints and drawings including all electrical and electronic schematics and knowledge with a focus on industrial mechanics
