Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician with proven experience in solar manufacturing environments to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems within our solar production facility. Your expertise will ensure optimal equipment performance, safety, and efficiency, supporting the manufacturing of high-quality solar modules. The Mechanical Technician maintains, repairs, and improves mechanical equipment used in solar module production. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. Duties Proven experience working in manufacturing facilities with a focus on solar or renewable energy production. Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical blueprint reading, schematics, and engineering troubleshooting methods. Skilled in equipment repair involving welding (stick welding), precision measurement instruments, and troubleshooting pneumatic/hydraulic systems. Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately; familiarity with electrical systems including high voltage safety protocols. Experience operating scissor lifts or similar industrial equipment; valid certification is preferred. Excellent analysis skills combined with customer service orientation for field service tasks when needed. Proficiency in English; strong communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration. Relevant certifications such as industrial electrician experience or HVAC/R are advantageous but not mandatory.

Educational Requirements:

Technical training or practical experience in automation, electrical technology, electronics, mechatronics, industrial controls, or a related field. 5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, electrical systems, or automated manufacturing equipment. Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, alarms, and interlocks. Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and technical manuals. Ability to safely use electrical meters, programming devices, diagnostic software, and hand tools. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred:

Technical diploma, certificate, or Engineering degree is a plus. Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, or similar PLC platforms. Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, machine vision, and safety controls. Familiarity with Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, SCADA, MES, or similar industrial systems. Experience in solar, semiconductors, electronics, automotive, automated assembly, or other advanced manufacturing environments. Experience with equipment commissioning, production ramp-up, or automation upgrades. NFPA 70E, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, Siemens, Rockwell, CAP, or related certification preferred.

Skills:
