Job Summary:
TRAIL-EZE
is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Final Pre-Assembler to support the preparation and sub-assembly of trailers prior to final assembly and completion. This role is based primarily in Mitchell, SD and is responsible for assembling key components such as running gear, ramps, tires, and hydraulic cylinders to ensure trailers are properly staged for final production. This position is hands-on and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth workflow into final assembly and overall product quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Marry running gear (axles, suspension, and related components) to trailer frames Install ramps and ramp assemblies according to specifications Install tires and wheels onto completed axle assemblies Install hydraulic cylinders and related hydraulic components Assist with positioning and staging trailer components for final assembly Verify proper fitment and alignment of pre-assembly components Support installation of additional structural or mechanical components as needed Maintain quality standards through attention to detail and accurate assembly practices Work collaboratively with fabrication, assembly, and final department teams Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety procedures and proper PPE requirements Perform other duties as assigned to support production flow
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or fabrication preferred Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in hydraulic and trailer systems preferred Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or build specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong safety mindset with consistent PPE compliance Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds and work in a physically active environment
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing and industrial shop environment Frequent standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and walking Work performed around large equipment, trailers, and moving machinery Exposure to noise, metal fabrication processes, and outdoor yard conditions Must be able to safely handle heavy components and assemblies Requires safe operation of production equipment and tools as needed
