Job Title:
Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description This short-term industrial maintenance opportunity supports a major equipment relocation and disassembly project at a large beverage manufacturing facility in Northern California. The role focuses on safely disassembling, preparing, and supporting the relocation of production equipment, platforms, and conveyance systems. Technicians will work on-site in an active industrial environment on a defined 3-week project, with potential for extension based on project needs. Responsibilities Perform mechanical disassembly and reassembly of production equipment, including Krones beverage manufacturing systems where applicable. Couple and decouple industrial ovens from blow mold systems, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections. Support equipment relocation activities by assisting with rigging, machinery moving, and de-commissioning tasks. Disassemble and prepare industrial platforms, catwalks, and support structures for relocation in a safe and organized manner. Remove and dismantle air conveyance systems and standard conveyor systems, labeling and organizing components as required. Assist with disassembly of miscellaneous production and processing equipment, following project procedures and instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment to complete mechanical tasks accurately and efficiently. Troubleshoot and identify equipment connection points, mechanical interfaces, and mounting locations to support proper disconnection and reassembly. Work closely with project supervisors and rigging crews to coordinate tasks and ensure safe and efficient execution of work. Follow all site-specific safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures, PPE use, and safe work practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and components are properly handled and stored. Communicate clearly with team members regarding task status, issues encountered, and any safety concerns. Support construction-related activities associated with equipment disassembly, relocation, and production line modifications. Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, climbing, lifting, and working around large machinery throughout 12-hour shifts. Essential Skills Industrial mechanical maintenance or millwright experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Hands-on experience working with Krones beverage manufacturing equipment for top-level technician roles. Demonstrated experience coupling and decoupling ovens from blow mold machinery for experienced-level technician roles. Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid industrial maintenance experience. Experience disassembling conveyor systems, platforms, catwalks, and manufacturing equipment. Ability to read equipment drawings and follow project procedures and instructions. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment safely and effectively. Ability to work safely in an active manufacturing environment and maintain a strong commitment to safety. Reliable transportation and consistent, punctual attendance for scheduled shifts. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, climb, and work around large machinery. Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on a defined project schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in beverage, food processing, or industrial manufacturing facilities. Previous rigging, machinery moving, plant relocation, or de-commissioning project experience. Experience supporting construction or production-related projects involving equipment relocation or line changes. OSHA safety training certifications or other formal safety training. Experience working with Krones equipment specifically, particularly in a seasoned technician capacity. Experience in industrial construction or mechanical construction environments. Familiarity with production equipment layouts and integration within manufacturing lines. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in an active industrial manufacturing facility in Northern California, within a large beverage production environment. Technicians work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 12-hour shifts during the approximately 3-week project, with potential for extension depending on project needs. The work takes place around large production machinery, industrial ovens, blow mold systems, conveyors, platforms, catwalks, and air conveyance systems. The role requires frequent standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as working at heights and in areas with ongoing production activity. Team members use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment and must comply with all site-specific safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety protocols, coordination with rigging crews and supervisors, and professional conduct in a busy, production-focused facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of American Canyon, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
