Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Memphis is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Technician who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. This role supports the coordination and execution of safely maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading all mobile equipment throughout the facility, including forklifts, heavy mobile equipment, and support vehicles. This role will include constant coordination and building relationships between all departments to ensure the highest reliability of our mobile equipment with the highest regard for the safety of all teammates. This teammate must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and unscheduled overtime. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to uphold safety policies and procedures Industrial electrical and mechanical experience (multi-craft) Ability to safely troubleshoot industrial equipment and systems Experience maintaining mobile equipment in heavy manufacturing, steel, or similar industrial environments Ability to read mechanical prints, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and OEM manuals Experience troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-centered environment High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or military experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience maintaining forklifts, mobile cranes, loaders, skid steers, or other heavy mobile equipment Experience with diesel engines and emissions systems Experience with hydraulic systems and hydrostatic drives Experience with industrial electrical systems, AC/DC motors, and controls Experience using diagnostic software and OEM troubleshooting tools Previous steel mill experience Welding and fabrication experience Experience with rigging and safe lifting practices Academic coursework in engineering, military, or technical school Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
