3005091836-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Day Shift Plant Maintenance Mechanic II to support safe, reliable operations at our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, crushers, motors, and other production equipment, troubleshooting issues quickly to reduce downtime. You'll inspect machinery, identify hazards, and follow strict safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and housekeeping standards. Using your mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding skills, you'll repair and install components, interpret drawings and manuals, and accurately document work in maintenance systems. You'll collaborate closely with operations and production teams in a safety-focused, performance-driven environment that values integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, conveyors, crushers, motors, and related systems during the day shift Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose root causes, and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime Inspect equipment for wear, safety hazards, and compliance with company and regulatory standards Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and work orders to plan and execute maintenance tasks Use hand tools, power tools, and welding/cutting equipment safely and effectively Collaborate with operations and production teams to schedule maintenance and support safe, efficient plant performance Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records accurately in the maintenance system Support continuous improvement, reliability initiatives, and plant safety programs, including lockout/tagout and safe work permits Assist with installation, alignment, and commissioning of new or rebuilt machinery and components Participate in safety meetings, training, and housekeeping to maintain a clean, hazard-free work area Required Skills Mechanical troubleshooting Preventive maintenance Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Welding and fabrication Blueprint and schematic reading Industrial safety practices (LOTO, PPE) Use of hand and power tools Equipment alignment and installation Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
