Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Mechanics ensure the smooth operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment in manufacturing and production facilities. Key Responsibilities Industrial maintenance mechanics are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment used in industrial settings.
Their duties include:
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures in equipment such as conveyors, presses, pumps, and gearboxes Performing preventive and predictive maintenance to avoid equipment breakdowns and ensure production uptime Repairing or replacing malfunctioning components, including bearings, belts, chains, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems Reading and interpreting equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform maintenance accurately Running tests and checks after repairs to ensure machinery operates optimally Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, parts used, and equipment performance Ordering replacement parts, managing inventory, and liaising with vendors Assisting in training new hires and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations Required Skills and Qualifications Successful industrial maintenance mechanics typically possess: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude , with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex equipment issues Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy machinery and work in noisy or hot environments Ability to multitask and remain calm during emergencies Formal training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance disciplines, often through technical schools, community colleges, or apprenticeships Certifications such as
MSSC CMRT, OSHA
