Job Description

JOB TITLE
MECHANICAL
INSPECTION AND ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY
Assembly and disassembly, inspection and repair of industrial power transmission components, performing all duties with the highest level of quality and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly and disassembly of new and used industrial components Interpreting technical drawings and conferring with Engineering as necessary Photographing and accurately documenting parts received Inspecting and verifying component dimensions using calibrated precision measurement tools Documenting findings and communicating complicated mechanical assembly issues Operate hoists and overhead crane safely, observing all company safety protocols Operate forklifts and other vehicles safely, observing all company safety protocols Operate grinding machines, hydraulic pressess, saws, hand tools and power tools proficiently and safely, observing all company safety protocols Apply quality control procedures during disassembly, inspection, and assembly of components while restoring components/assemblies to drawing specifications Consistently document work in workflow management system and utilize job travelers as required Maintain tooling inventory, assist in parts inventory, and communicate re-order with the production/procurement personnel Ensure the proper identification, preservation and safe storage of parts and assemblies within designated staging areas Prepare parts and assemblies for shipment and storage Prioritize work based on production schedule Support and interact with other production areas to ensure timely and safe production processes Help maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment Perform other work-related tasks as assigned

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting unsafe activities and situations to Management. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Contribute to building a positive team spirit and communicate effectively with coworkers at all levels. Protect confidential company and customer information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of self or third parties. Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times. Perform other such duties as may be required.

Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or at least two years related shop or mechanical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection may be recommended and/or required in some areas.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
