Installer Technician Level I:

$19-21/hr Job Description The Mechanic Installer / Installer Technician Level I installs custom service bodies and related mechanical and electrical components on pickup trucks in a fast-paced auto shop environment. This role focuses on in-place installations rather than assembly line work and requires hands-on use of hand tools, power tools, and 12V electrical wiring to complete high-quality, customized builds. Responsibilities Install custom service bodies and mechanical components on pickup trucks using hand tools and power tools. Perform in-place installations rather than assembly line production, adapting to each vehicles specific requirements. Install and connect 12V electrical components, including wiring for lights, accessories, and other systems. Read and follow installation manuals and blueprints to ensure accurate mechanical and electrical assembly. Use tools such as power drills, power impacts, tape measures, and other shop equipment to complete installations. Work with sheet metal and duct work as needed for mechanical assembly and custom fabrication. Perform basic troubleshooting and repair on installed 12V electrical and mechanical systems. Access tight spaces under and around trucks to route wiring and install small and large parts. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while working in the shop and outdoors. Collaborate with other team members on shift to coordinate workflow and meet production and quality expectations. Maintain a clean and organized work area in a hot, dirty, fast-paced auto shop environment. Essential Skills 25 years of experience in mechanical installations, including mechanical assembly and installations on vehicles or similar equipment. Proficiency using power drills, power impacts, and other common hand and power tools. Strong ability to measure accurately with a tape measure and apply measurements to mechanical and electrical installations. Experience with mechanical assembly, including working with small and large parts. Ability to read and follow manuals for installation and apply written instructions to hands-on work. Capability to work under trucks and in confined spaces to perform wiring and mechanical installs. Basic 12V electrical wiring skills, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Comfort working with sheet metal, duct work, and related materials in an assembly environment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding auto shop setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience reading and interpreting blueprints for mechanical and electrical assemblies. Familiarity with welding and hydraulics in an automotive or industrial environment. Ability to troubleshoot 12V electrical systems and perform minor repairs as needed. Willingness to cross-train in other installation and assembly tasks to broaden skill set. Comfort working both indoors in a shop and outdoors when required. Work Environment The role is based in an auto shop environment that is nonclimate controlled, fast paced, hot, and dirty, with in-place assembly rather than an assembly line. You work on shift with approximately 35 other employees and may go outdoors when required to complete installations or related tasks. The position is physically demanding and requires getting under trucks and handling both small and large parts. Personal Protective Equipment is required, including protective glasses, knee pads, steel-toe boots, hard hat, and gloves when needed, in line with established safety practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Red Oak, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
