Elevator Mechanic - Associate UT Health San Antonio - 3.5 San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting or performing housekeeping and skilled mechanic duties in the repair and maintenance of conveyances. Responds to equipment trouble reports, determines problem(s) and repairs and restores the elevator/escalator equipment to serviceable status. This role requires the candidate to have a drivers license. Repairs and maintains elevators, escalators, and dumb-waiters to meet safety regulations and building codes, using hand tools, power tools, test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters, and other testing devices Locates and determines causes of trouble in brakes, motors, switches, and signal and control systems, using test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters and other various tools. Disassembles defective units and repairs or replaces parts, such as locks, gears, cables, electric wiring, and faulty safety devices, using hand tools. Installs push-button controls and other devices to modernize elevators. Lubricates bearings and other parts to minimize friction. Performs all other duties as assigned. Mechanical knowledge of elevator maintenance and repair and ability to use hand tools, power tools, test lamps, ammeters, voltmeters, and other testing/measuring devices. Ability to read schematics. Demonstrates the ability to follow troubleshooting and testing protocols of equipment and comply with all safety/OSHA regulations, state law and building codes. Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to perform inspections as required by law.
