Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of War and its allies' core mission priorities, and meet the accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs. In this hands-on role, you will support engineering, manufacturing, and production activities that directly enable our teams to build and deliver high-quality hardware. You will contribute to daily operations through mechanical assembly, test support, composites work, shipping preparation, and facility tasks, ensuring equipment and components are prepared and completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Schedule This shift follows a 9/80 schedule: 9 hours Monday through Thursday, 8 hours Friday, with every other Friday off. Responsibilities Performs mechanical assembly following verbal and written instructions. Supports engineering testing, manufacturing activities, and maintenance projects. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Assists with packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment. Maintains awareness of safety procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions. Performs other related duties as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with basic hand and power tools and familiarity with mechanical tasks. Strong interest in fast-paced, hands-on work environments. More than 1 year of experience in a technical field and/or construction, electrical, plumbing, or facility maintenance. Demonstrates a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Physical Requirements Moderate physical and repetitious work. Standing for extended periods. Use of stairs. Occasional heavy lifting.
