- Temporary Your role with us: As an Electrical-Mechanical Technician at Pearson Packaging Systems, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of secondary packaging machinery from the ground up.
You will utilize engineering models, established standards, mechanical intuition, and practical expertise to build equipment that meets Pearson's quality and performance specifications. You will test, troubleshoot, and repair machinery prior to shipment and may travel to customer sites to support installation and startup activities. This is a hands-on role where the quality of your work directly impacts the customer experience and Pearson's reputation. You will be held to documented standards including work instructions, torque specifications, and proper tool selection. You will be expected to take ownership of the quality of every assembly you touch. Does this sound like you? You have strong hands-on technical skills. You have experience building and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment and can read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions. You know the difference between a hand tool and a power tool application, you respect torque specifications, and you don't take shortcuts that compromise quality. You work well under pressure. Aggressive project delivery schedules motivate rather than discourage you. You can manage your time independently, prioritize effectively, and stay focused on delivering a quality product on time. You navigate change well. You see engineering changes, customer requests, and shifting priorities as part of the job rather than obstacles to it. You can adapt quickly without losing focus on quality and delivery.
