Full-Time | Heavy Overtime (Expect 80-90+ hours per week) Position Summary We are seeking a hardworking, dependable Cable Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves preparing, spooling, testing, and repairing heavy-duty wireline and cable used in oilfield operations. You will be working long hours in a fast-paced shop environment, operating mechanical equipment, and ensuring all cable meets strict safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities Cable Processing & Spooling:

Operate mechanical spooling units to wind, unwind, measure, and package oilfield cables.

Cable Maintenance & Repair:

Perform basic mechanical repairs, clean wireline, install cable armor, and assist with splicing or end-fitting installations.

Inspection & Quality Control:

Perform routine visual inspections and basic continuity/resistance tests to catch defects, wear, or damage.

Equipment Operation:

Safely run shop machinery, overhead cranes, forklifts, and hydraulic spooling units.

Shop Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, organized work area; stock shop supplies; and strictly follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols.

Schedule & Compensation Realities Hours:

Average 80 to 90 hours per week . Candidates must be prepared for extended shifts, weekend shifts, and frequent overtime.

Earning Potential:

Base pay is $22/hr for the first 40 hours ($880/week). Hours worked over 40 are paid at time-and-a-half ($33/hr). At 90 hours, gross earnings are roughly $2,530 per week .

Qualifications & Requirements Experience:

Basic oilfield or industrial shop experience preferred (1+ year helpful, but willing to train the right candidate).

Mechanical Aptitude:

Strong hands-on mechanical skills with experience using basic hand and power tools.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for extended shifts, lift up to 75 lbs, and perform repetitive heavy lifting and physical labor.

Safety Mindset:

Commitment to working safely around heavy moving parts, high-tension lines, and pressurized gear.

Reliability:

Dependable transportation, punctual attendance, and readiness for demanding work schedules.

Screening:

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
