The successful candidate will contribute to a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment while working collaboratively with residents, students, families, volunteers, coworkers, and community partners to help transform lives through hope, healing, and opportunity. The Presbyterian Home for Children Lawncare and Maintenance Worker plays a critical role in supporting the organization's mission by maintaining the health, appearance, and safety of the organization's lawns and landscaped areas as well as providing maintenance. To be a successful Lawncare and Maintenance Worker, you must be willing, and become able to do the following always: Reflect on the vision and mission of the Presbyterian Home for Children. Work with the Manager and the Supervisor of Facilities and Maintenance to perform different tasks to achieve a functional and pleasant outdoor environment. Perform the essential job functions as described in the task list from the Operations Departmental Manual; Work with fellow staff to provide positive outcomes on projects and tasks. Function within the Presbyterian Home for Children policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee's Guide to Successful Employment with PHFC. Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Able to operate a variety of equipment and tools. Able to lift 40-45 pounds. Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of temperatures. Extensive periods of sitting, standing, and bending down during shift. Good time management and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Having an eye for detail. Highly motivated and demonstrating excellent physical dexterity. Good communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to travel and work flexible hours. A team player with the ability to work independently. Ability to offer excellent customer service. Must be able to pass a CAN check and ABI/FBI background check through the Department of Human Resources. Must be able to pass a physical and TB test. Must have a valid Alabama driver's license. Eligible to be covered by the Presbyterian Home for Children's auto insurance.
