Job Description
The Landscape Specialist works under general supervision and reports to the Asst. Director of the Physical Plant. The position is responsible for maintaining grounds and building, performing general labor, and providing instructions to other maintenance workers. This position is governed by agency/institution policy. This is a 12-month, 40 hours per week, on-campus position. If not residing in Camden or surrounding area, relocation is required. - Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
- Works independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Identifies maintenance, safety, or operational issues and makes informed recommendations to the Assistant Director.
- Exercises judgment in prioritizing work and determining appropriate corrective actions.
- Loads and unloads items such as chairs, tables, risers, pianos, furniture, etc.
- Hauls dirt and fills holes.
- Picks up trash and broken limbs.
- Sprays, prunes and trims shrubbery and trees.
- Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubbery, fertilizes and waters as necessary.
- Operating equipment such as tractors, lawn mowers or weed eaters to cut grass.
- Cleans out window wells, stairwells and drainage ditches.
- Receive and deliver daily freight, maintain log of both receipt and delivery of all freight.
