Job Description
Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Public Works or one of the department's managers performs manual work of routine, unskilled, skilled, and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of public facilities, roads, fencing, landscape and equipment, and furnishings. Job Description
- Must have HVAC and Plumbing experience.
- Performs carpentry work, minor electrical work including replacing light bulbs, plumbing as needed, repairs facilities.
- Informs supervisor when equipment and/or facilities require repair and/or maintenance.
- Requests, receives and distributes for supplies and equipment and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
- Drives utility vehicles such as pick-up trucks, golf carts, etc.
- May transport team members and supplies/materials.
- Operates two-way radio to communicate with base station or other vehicles.
- Maintains daily, weekly and monthly job duties check off list.
- Maintains a monthly vehicle report log.
- Safely operate tractors, mowers, vehicles, power tools and equipment.
- Follows dress and personal hygiene regulations.
- Follows all California Vehicle Laws.
- Follows team member regulations, maintains an acceptable attendance record, and wears uniforms provided by the Department.
- Practices Viejas Guest Service standards while performing job duties and responsibilities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Does not provide supervision to others.
- High school diploma or General education degree (GED) is required.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Valid Class C California Driver's License or higher issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicle.
- Two or more years of experience/training in maintenance, landscape and/or janitorial work.
- 2 years of plumbing experience
- Working knowledge of safety guidelines and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of driving/roadway laws and regulations.
- Possess and maintain a satisfactory driving record required.
- Possess proficient verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Possess initiative and is comfortable performing tasks on time with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and acceptance of diversity.
