Job Description

JOB Position Summary Under general supervision, performs the full range of work in the construction, modification, maintenance, repair, and operation of Town infrastructure, including storm and sanitary sewer systems; and performs related work as required. Requirements Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and three (3) years of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair of underground utilities, general construction, or two (2) years of experience equivalent to Maintenance Worker I at the Town of Apple Valley. Current Class B CDL and CWEA Grade I Collection System Maintenance Certification is highly desirable. Valid California Class C driver's license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance. Must be able to successfully acquire a CWEA Grade 1 certificate in collections within one (1) year of employment. Must be able to obtain a valid California Class B driver's license with Tanker and Air Brake Endorsements within one (1) year of employment. Must be available to be on-call on a rotating basis. A thirty (30)-minute response time is required and includes responding to after hour emergencies at times. Position will be required to work in and around wastewater collection system facilities and environments, including exposure to wastewater. •You can expect to be contacted by phone OR email regarding this position.
