Role:

As a Maintenance Worker, you'll perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks to support the cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings and facilities throughout the district. This role is essential to ensuring safe, clean, and welcoming environments for the Chico community.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine semi-skilled and skilled manual labor, including lifting, carrying materials, and cleaning grounds and buildings Conduct custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, and assisting with HVAC checks Assist with setup and cleanup for recreation programs and special events Assist with installation and repair of facilities and structures Build positive working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and community partners Perform other duties as assigned

Who We're Looking For:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of related facilities, janitorial, or maintenance experience Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting over 50 pounds and working in varied indoor conditions Comfortable working with tools, equipment, and around chemicals Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

Licenses & Requirements:

Valid California Driver's License of appropriate class Ability to pass a Department of Justice Live Scan background check and

Work Location:

This position will not work outdoors in our parks, but rather in our indoor facilities. Candidates will be expected to work at the CARD Center, Lakeside Pavilion, Nature Center, Pleasant Valley Recreation Center, Dorothy F Johnson Building, and other CARD facilities not listed.
