Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial tools to maintain high standards of floor care and buffing across various surfaces. Handle chemical agents safely following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a healthy environment for staff and visitors. Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, replacing light bulbs, fixing fixtures, and troubleshooting basic plumbing or electrical issues. Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injuries. Maintain safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Support facilities maintenance by inspecting the premises regularly, identifying issues early, and reporting or resolving problems promptly. Skills Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with strong knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques. Skilled in handling cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Familiarity with chemical agent handling and safety procedures for cleaning products used in various environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling practices. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, visitors, or clients when needed. Experience in industrial or residential cleaning environments with a focus on sanitation standards.
