Cupertino, CA Compensation:
$20-$23/hr Love working outdoors? Enjoy fixing things, operating equipment, and helping create an amazing camp experience? Join the Camp Via West team! At Camp Via West, you'll play an important role in maintaining the beautiful grounds and facilities that make camp possible for children and adults with disabilities. Every project you complete—from landscaping to repairs to event setup—helps create a safe, welcoming environment where campers can learn, grow, and have fun. If you're someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety in your day, and being part of a mission-driven team, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do No two days are the same! You'll support the upkeep and operation of our camp by: Maintaining camp buildings, grounds, landscaping, and outdoor spaces Operating lawn care and landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chippers, and chainsaws Performing general maintenance and repairs, including light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and mechanical work Assisting with pool operations and equipment maintenance Setting up and taking down for camp events and activities Moving furniture and equipment as needed Driving camp vehicles to transport campers, staff, and supplies Supporting volunteer work groups and community service crews Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming camp environment What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Dependable and takes pride in quality work Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Safety-minded and willing to learn Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Positive, flexible, and ready to pitch in wherever needed Committed to providing excellent customer service to campers, families, volunteers, and fellow staff Qualifications At least one year of maintenance, landscaping, facilities, construction, or related experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to safely operate maintenance and landscaping equipment (or willingness to learn) Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position that requires: Standing and walking for extended periods Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Lifting and moving materials weighing up to 100 pounds Safely operating maintenance equipment and tools Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Valid California Driver's License Clean driving record Must be at least 21 years old to transport campers and participants Ability to pass DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance Negative TB test prior to employment CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and select holidays as needed Why Camp Via West?
