Job Description
The City of Laguna Beach is excited to announce that we are accepting applications to fill the position of Maintenance Aide in our Public Works & Utilities Department. The Maintenance Aide play a vital role in keeping our city clean, safe, and beautiful. This position may be assigned to one or more divisions, including Street Maintenance, Building and Facilities, Landscape Maintenance and Urban Forestry, or Fleet Maintenance. The current vacancy is in the Landscape Maintenance and Urban Forestry division. What You'll Do Assist with all phases of landscape maintenance including raking, weeding, trimming, plant replacement, and landscape improvements. Working outside along street medians, buffers, as well as in parks and trails. Assist maintenance staff with a variety of basic tasks- duties will vary according to job assignment. Clean and sanitize park and trail amenities and remove debris and litter from facilities, landscape features, trails, and parks. Recognize, avoid, and report unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and injuries. Provide information, instructions, and assistance to the public within the scope of authority and training. Support the relationship between the City of Laguna Beach and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff.
