We enrich lives by removing barriers to connect our community to more. The Riverside Transit Agency is recruiting to fill one full-time vacancy in the Maintenance Department. Please be advised that this may involve assignment at either our Riverside or Hemet locations. Applicants must be available to work 7 days per week, including holidays and all shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job duties include but not limited to: Preventive and remedial maintenance of shop and bus servicing equipment including bus washer systems, fueling stations and shop equipment Laying out and constructing structural framing, including walls, roofs, and stairs Installing repairing and replacing door jams and doors, drop ceilings, drywall and partitions Repairing and replacing fence posts and chain link fences Installing lock systems and related equipment; performing preventive and remedial maintenance of HVAC systems Maintenance of landscape and all other groundskeeper duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Four years experience in facilities maintenance required. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations. Possession of a valid non-restricted California driver's license is required prior to employment.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Experience as a carpenter, plumber or HVAC technician desirable. A repair background along with the knowledge and the ability to repair; HVAC systems, Hydraulic lift systems, Camera systems and extensive electrical circuit installation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS A
current valid non-restricted Class C Driver's License is required. Additionally, o btain an official DMV Driving History printout from a branch of the DMV (issued not more than 30 days prior to date of application) must be provided with the application. The DMV Driving History must be clear of suspensions for any reason within the past five (5) years and have no more than three (3) points within the past five (5) years, and no two (2) point violations. No accidents which applicant contributed to cause within 3 years from your application date Have appeared in court as required

Maintenance employees and Coach Operators are Union members and receive the following benefits: The Riverside Transit Agency contracts with the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) to administer the retirement benefits. The current benefit factor formula for all new hires is 2% at 62. Employees with previous CalPERS membership or membership with another employer who has established reciprocity with CalPERS may be eligible for the 2% at 55 benefit factor formula. Medical available to employees at minimal cost with a contribution toward dependent coverage, Chiro/Acupuncture/Vision benefits included with Medical Insurance. Dental Insurance available at no cost for HMO employee only coverage. PPO coverage is offered; however, RTA will pay up to the HMO employee only premium. Vision Insurance available at employee cost.
