Job Description

Position Overview:
The Mechanic Assistant supports the maintenance team in the inspection, repair, and servicing of motor coaches and related equipment. This role helps ensure that all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards, contributing to reliable and efficient fleet operations. The Mechanic Assistant follows directives from Lead Mechanic and supervisory staff to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently. In addition, this position assists in organizing and maintaining all DOT files and maintenance records for each bus to ensure compliance with federal and company standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn within a professional motor coach service environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist mechanics in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on motor coaches, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and suspension components. Conduct basic inspections, fluid checks, and part replacements (filters, belts, lights, etc.). Support diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and work areas. Safely operate company vehicles and equipment as needed. Record maintenance activities and complete required documentation accurately. Schedule:
Thursday-Monday, 12:00 PM-8:30 PM Schedule is subject to change, and flexibility is required for this position.
Pay:
$22.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
