Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Porter/Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our building interiors and surrounding areas. Your proactive approach will ensure that our facilities operate smoothly, providing a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your diverse maintenance skills in a fast-paced setting, contributing directly to the overall efficiency and appearance of our facility. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and facility sanitation to maintain a clean environment. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems, electrical equipment, HVAC units, and building interior fixtures. Repair and troubleshoot mechanical issues using hand tools, schematics, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters. Assist with carpentry tasks including minor repairs, drywall patching, painting (residential and maintenance painting), and furniture assembly. Operate power tools and hand tools safely while adhering to all safety protocols; perform welding or other specialized repairs as needed. Support supervisory staff with tasks related to facilities maintenance projects and supervise junior team members when required. Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, schematics updates, and maintenance logs for compliance and operational efficiency. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building operations with a strong understanding of mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with electrical work, plumbing repairs, HVAC system troubleshooting and repair. Skilled in carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and general handyman tasks. Knowledge of maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) practices along with safety standards related to facilities work. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork.
