Description:

Asphalt plant assistants perform various tasks assisting with the operation of asphalt plants, including using power tools and hand tools, cleaning, sweeping, and shoveling materials. They also assist plant personnel with servicing and repair tasks. Essential Functions of the

Position:

Works with the plant manager to prioritize cold plant inspections and daily maintenance tasks. Communicates plant issues with the plant manager and supervisor to maximize plant efficiency. Weekly plant inspection walkthroughs for Safety Audits. Communicates and updates the status of lubricating materials needed for daily maintenance. Helps with daily plant production necessities, communicating daily with the plant manager for assigned tasks. Follow all company safety policies.

Skills and Knowledge:

Oral and written communication skills. English language skills. Interpersonal, customer service, and public relations skills. Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. Experience with shovels, power tools, and air tools.

Requirements:

Must pass a drug screening. Ability to work in all outdoor elements (Extreme Heat and rain). Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling, and/or action/discipline. Ability to operate heavy construction equipment to assist with plant clean-up.
